Lauret is an author published by Counterpoint Press, an author-driven press created in 2007 that devotes its energy to fresh, cutting-edge, and literary voices.

Mount Holyoke College
Lauret is a professor of environmental studies and geology at Mount Holyoke College, established in 1837.  The founder’s words—”Go where no one else will go, do what no one else will do”—continue to inspire Mount Holyoke students.

Aragi, Inc.
Lauret is a client of Aragi, Inc., a New York City-based literary agency founded by Nicole Aragi in 2002.  Lauret’s agent is Frances Coady.

National Parks Conservation Association
Lauret a member of the board of directors of the National Parks Conservation Association, which has advocated for the preservation of national parks and historical sites in the U.S. for more than 90 years.  She occasionally blogs on wilderness, civil rights, and related topics for the organization’s advocacy efforts.

Terrain Publishing and Terrain.org
Lauret serves on the Board of Directors of the nonprofit Terrain Publishing, as well as an editorial board member of Terrain.org, an international, place-based journal publishing literature, art, urban design, and editorials online since 1998.  She previously wrote the “A Stone’s Throw” column for the journal.

Diverse Environmental Leaders (DEL)
Lauret is on the speaking bureau of Diverse Environmental Leaders, an organization that has been increasing the participation of urban communities in our public lands, waters, and environmental conversation since 1995.

Milkweed Editions
Lauret is an author published by Milkweed Editions, an independent, nonprofit book publisher founded in 1980 with a mission to identify, nurture, and publish transformative literature, and build an engaged community around it.
